In most cases, all you need to do is to reduce the output power from 
your sound card to the transceiver microphone input by a factor of 
100. Do this with the following two-resistor divider circuit. 


---wire from sound card---10-Kohm-----------mic input center
                                                     |
                                                     |
 ---gnd wire from sound card-------------- 100-ohm---mic gnd

You can add an isolation transformer, but it is usually unnecessary. 
There is no need to make any change in the sound coming from the rig 
to the computer sound card.

The above circuit is in the Zakanaka Help File, which has further 
suggestions for proper tuneup.
