John, I've had the ICOM 751A for a while now (very close cousin to the 765)
and selectivity is bulletproof...however, at the expensive of serious phase
noise! My Corsair II very quiet receiver but doesn't have the selectivity
the ICOM has...however, Corsair II runs circles around my ICOM when
operating CW!
In your review of QST I'm surprised you didn't mention the Elecraft K2 --
ARRL labs says it was the "best" hf rig to go thru their lab! Wish I had the
bucks to buy one and try myself.....HI!
By-the-way, I get flamed on occasion....just shows the lack of maturity and
self-respect on the part of the "flamer!"

I'll probably get flamed on this, but in my opinion, if you look at all
of
the QST reviews, the top 3 receivers are in this order FT-1000, TS-850 and
IC-765. The CorsairII doesnt come close.
