FYI - This from the Argo V Mail Reflector.
The epilogue is that wiring the Argo's two whisper fans electrically *in
series* at the Molex power connector provide ample cooling and much less fan
noise.

Hi Paul,
Yes, I too thought that placing the fans in series might do the
trick. Your post gave me the nudge to try it. Last night, I mounted
them and temporarily wired them in series directly to the 937 power
supply. They run >much< slower, are very quiet and pull about
60 mA.
As a cooling test, I ran 20 watts CW into a dummy load for 6 minutes
in my ~72 degrees F living room. After about 3 or 4 minutes, I
could just begin to tell part of the heat sink was getting warmer
than the rest of the radio. At 6 minutes, the heat sink was
definitely warm, but only at the inboard end of the sink up against
the back wall of the radio. The rest of the sink felt to be at the
same temperature as the radio case. This compared to the heat sink
on the power supply: it was too hot to touch.
So even in series the fans provide ample cooling for the radio.
Thanks for the suggestion,
Wayne
