Ken, about drive and capacitors:

It may only be a need to lube the drive.   I have some planetary drives that
got stiff over time.  Replacing original grease with Silicon Ball Bearing
grease that will outlast the metal parts seems to be the answer.  The old
stiff grease must be flushed out first, before relube.

If there is room for larger air spaced caps, I think Cardwell is still in
business of making them.

Replacement reduction drives are again being made in England by firm that
took over Jackson Bros.; thus, that might be a way to improve the use of the
present capacitors, as Jackson Bros. models of drives include some compact
ones.
