The ARRL reviewed several switching power supplies (January and September
2000) and based on their Sept 2000 review I bought the Alinco DM-330MV (32
Amp). It's been great and to quote the ARRL review "The DM-330MV is a very
quiet supply, both electrically and acoustically. The tiny cooling fan is
temperature controlled ? but even when running it?s virtually silent."
Reviewed in the January QST were the Astron SS-30M, Icom PS-85, Kenwood
PS-40, MFJ 4225MP, Samlex SEC 1223 and Yaesu FP-1023 rated at 20 to 25 amps
continuous. The September QST looked at the Alinco DM-330MV and Diamond
GZV4000 both rated at 30+ amps continuous.
QST has not published a review of the Radio Shack supply.
