[TenTec] 253 Tuner vs AT-1000 Tuner?

Been looking at adding an autotuner to my Omni-6+ station to replace the
238 I presently use.

The new LDG AT-1000 looks promising, but it doesn't appear to have memories
or remote control, and will require an external antenna switch.

Having said that, I was wondering how the AT-1000 compares to the old 253
autotuner that TT used to sell.
