While on the subject of local device interconnect, what about bluetooth wireless ? Anyone have any practical experience to weigh in on the benefits vs drawbacks of this nascent standard local device interface ? Seems that such a local wireless IF would be a natural for a radio, if indeed the chipset is as cheap to integrate as the ads in trade press are quoting. Understood that RF interference is an issue, but is it that tough to shield a millowatt level RF source way out of the HF bands ?
