[TenTec] Q: Triton 249 Noise Blanker

I have a Triton IV with the model 249 Noise Blanker installed.
The audio is raspy, 
whether listening to CW or Fone,
on speaker or phones, 
NB switch In or Out.

The manual sez it is an "IF type".

Sounds OK w/o the NB installed.

Schem shows input from the Rx side of the Tx/Rx mixer board, 
output to the Tx side of Tx/Rx mixer board, and output of SSB Gen. board.

Anyone have a product sheet, schem, or setup info for the board?
