I've decided to sell my Hercules II amplifier to support other interests.
I'd prefer to sell the amp and power supplies as one but will sell
separately. Shipping can be arranged at actual UPS cost at buyers expense.

**Hercules II Solid State Amplifier-
Cosmetically and electrically excellent.
http://webpages.charter.net/w9wis/tt3.jpg Easy 500-550 watts output with up
to about 60 watts drive in the HF band. Will auto-bandswitch with the Omni
V and Omni VI / Omni VI+.... it's like having a 500 watt radio ! Has
original manual and connectors. I will include the almost unobtainable
Model 236 control cable with the amp. This cable allows the auto
bandswitching to work with the previously mentioned rigs.... and it has a
pigtail so the 301 knob or computer control can also be use at the same time
off the serial port................

There are two very simple modifications made to the amplifier that were done
at the recommendation of Gary Larson at Ten-Tec Service. One is the removal
of D11 (1N4002 diode) on the control board and replacement with a jumper.
This allows the Jupiter to properly key the amplifier. Apparently this
diode was there for grid block keying rigs and the voltage drop affects the
low voltage keying of the Jupiter's TX EN/Out system. The diode is not
needed unless you are using a grid block keying exciter.... I'll send a new
diode along with the amp.... or reverse the mod and reinstall a diode if you
want. The second mod is the addition of a RF choke (16 Ohm, 650 mH) to the
rca jack (TX OUT) on the Herc II. The Jupiter is a VERY RF sensitive rig
and Gary recommended adding the choke to keep any stray RF on the line from
the Jupiter... which has no RF filtering on this line at all. I can remove
the choke if you want but it has no effect on keying at all... I'd leave it
in if I were you........$850

**Custom Dual Astron Model RS-70M 70 amp power for the Herc II.

These two Astron RS-70M supplies are paralleled to provide the 80 amps
necessary (and more) to power the Hercules II. They are harnessed with
custom power cables made of #2 welding cable and work extremely well.
These are HEAVY linear supplies with current and voltage metering. They are
designed for parallel operation and have a link to slave the two
regulators.... although these have been matched so well they would actually
share the load better without the connection being made. $400

Buyer pays shipping cost as mentioned earlier.

Mike
