Yes the 580 Delta does use a 6.3Mhz IF, in fact there
is NO 9MHz IF in the 580 at all. It directly mixes the
incoming signal with the "band" crystal, that mixer's
output then falls in the range of 11 - 11.5 MHz. That
signal is then mixed directly with the VFO's output
that spans ~5.2 - 4.7 MHz to then arrive at the 6.3
MHz IF. Or another way to think about it the 580 Delta
is a 11 - 11.5 MHz transceiver with 9 separate HF band
transverters in front of it. 

Also unique to the 580 is the requirement to select
the proper sideband when changing bands, there is no
preselected "normal" sideband mode when changing bands
like there is for most all of the other TT crystal IF
radios
