I love Keith's post about being behind the curve. Actually he is at the peak
of the curve letting the fruit ripen and the beta testing done by an army of
passionate hams willing to grab the brass ring and grapple with the minutia.
No matter the brand name or model number, there is another army of hams who
for whatever reason still don't get it, and then decide to cut and run. My
Omni 6/opt1 and Jupiter were both acquired using this technique.
Nirvana has been achieved as the Omni 6/opt1 has now reached the oldie but
goodie status, but in fact, a hard one to beat. The Jupiter is on the side
for the moment gaining status and a pleasure to operate, confident in its
ability to take the stage at a moment's notice. I would be just as happy
with a Corsair, Paragon or Omni V which are really bargains now.
