Another tech magazine piece on the developing automotive shift in electrical
busses said there will be both a high voltage bus and a 12 volt bus, at
least for awhile. It may be that the high voltage bus, is dedicated only
to the computer and engine control functions, and accessories relegated to
12 volts. It may not be a simple thing to access the higher voltage system.
Probably a good way to keep abreast of the developing new standards is to
watch the publications/web page of SAE, Society of Automotive Engineers, or
the specialty group of IEEE that deals with automotive power or mobile power
if there is one.
