While on HF it is not a very hard or terribly
expensive to do full QSK at high power on VHF/UHF/SHF
it is simply not an option in most cases. The last
thing you can afford to do is replace VERY expensive
tower mounted relays/preamps every few contests, never
mind the fact that many of those relays simply aren't
fast enough to begin with for QSK. And in a
transverter configuration there maybe 3-4 pieces of
equipment all needing to switch between RX/TX in the
proper sequence, not just a radio and an amplifier. So
there is considerably more complexity out of the gate.

If the Orion is at all like the Pegasus for external
keying behavior from the PTT out jack it then will
switch external devices quite nicely in a semi QSK
fashion.
