I bought my Omni VI  in August of 1992 and have not yet needed to replace
the battery and I turn off the power supply when I am not using the rig.
Additionally, I built a Heathkit Micromatic keyer back in 1984 and have not
needed to replace the three mercury cells in it either!!!
