Hi, Barry,

If you hadn't told me that the bandwidth was the same on both, I would
have sworn that the Yaesu was set to a wide bandwidth. Maybe it's just
the center frequency of the filter, which sounds definitely higher on
the Yaesu, but there seems to be a lot more of the high frequency SSB
splatter audible on the Yaesu.

By the way, I challenge the reflector: post here your copy of as much of
the transmission as you can.

It's a 2-1/2 minute clip of a slow weak cw signal
starting with the Orion and switching back and forth
with audible switch pops.  A couple of times you can
hear me adjust the Orion AGC.  250hz bandwith was used
on both receivers (1Khz roofing filter on the Orion,
preamp on).
