Just an update,

The RIT/XIT is looking like an intermittent problem.  Does not appear to be
related to any other setting as previously thought.  Sent email to Dits &
Bits.

Well, the good news!  Late last night, while I was playing around
programming the VFO's.  RIT/XIT came back!  I started with 10 meters and set
a VFO for 29.6 MHz. and set the mode to FM.  For some unknown reason I tried
the RIT again, and it was working!  Checked all the bands, and all seems
okay!  I think I tried every other button on the radio except the mode
button.  Go figure!
