Hi Tim -
Yes, you'll need the pair so that the PBT operates properly and the
audio passband is widened. Both SSB filters are in line for PBT
operation. I have jumped the 6.3 MHz filter before with a resistor and
just had a single filter in the 9 MHz slot (lose PBT) but the hiss comes
way up and its not quite what I wanted.
A pair of 2.8's and the INRAD mod to the audio board will give you a bit
wider audio, but it won't be "full" audio. I think there are lots of
sites that discuss receiver bandwidth for the Ten Tec rigs (check out
our friend in Albany :-)

Hi folks -
I have an Omni VI+ on the way. I'm not clear on one thing. Are BOTH the
2.4 standard filters always cascaded together? If so, I guess that
means you would have to buy a 2.8 filter for each board if you wanted
to widen the SSB. Or can you cut out one filter and thus only need to
buy one 2.8 for the 9Mhz board Thanks in advance.
