My Omni V.9 did this for many years.... it's sort of a subtile change and as
such never really bothered me too much.  As you notice it isn't related to
RF/transmitting vs receiving.

I pulled the plugs and cleaned the contacts with De-Oxit and that seemed to
clear it up for quite a while but it always returned.
