Tony, the old (black) Omni line will not operate properly on the 18 MHz
band. It uses a 9 MHz intermediate frequency and about ten jillion mixer
products can appear as spurious signals both on transmit and receive. With
my Omni-C, one of the spurs was over one watt with my key up.

Hi,
having recently got an OMNI D and having received great advice re switch
cleaning etc from members of this group - thanks to all, may I ask if
there is a known cure for noise from the digital readout display? I've
notice this effect on several frequencies especially on 18 MHz, I was
thinking of loading the leads with ferrite beads, but I assume someone else
has "invented the wheel" on this one !
