Hi Larry,
I have used RG 58 for years and in 100 feet or less for single band antennas
it is OK.  However, the RG 8X is not that much money, and has much larger
area of center conductor, which is stranded, and makes a very low loss
conductor, especially if you tune your dipole to more than one band.  Of
course, 450 ohm line is lowest loss of all.
