Mike,

Was that a used rig? My early Triton IV digital has the same 4-plug MOLEX connector every other Triton/Omni/Corsair and matching power supply has.

In other words, I've never seen a six wire Molex on any Ten-Tec. I can't imagine TT would have put a six pin plug on a power supply without changing the model number.

And to the other ham, no. There is no difference in plugs due to the digital display. The four connectors are +12vdc, ground, and two to control AC power from the Triton's power switch.

I had an early Triton 4 digital model that had the 6 pin cinch jones plug on
its rear panel. The matching 262G supply had a 6 pin socket (I don't
remember if it was on the supply or on a cable permanently connected inside
the supply). ALL other Triton rigs I've owned or seen used the 4 pin molex
connector.

I thought that connector was a 4-pin?

I don't have the rig here so will have to check -- I ordered
the connectors from TenTec earlier today and he asked me if
they were 6 or 4.

Perhaps a difference between the analog and digital models?

I saw your note regarding the Triton IV on the reflector. I am also
building a power cord for my Triton IV. I bought a Cinch-Jones female,
cable type socket at a local parts supplier, thinking that it would fit
the six pin plug on the back of the rig. It comes close, but it is
slightly too small.

I have located another similar six pin socket in the MOUSER catalog. It
is made by Molex and looks slightly heavier duty than the Cinch-Jones
model. Ten Tec has often used Molex plugs and sockets on their gear. I
think that the Molex version will work. I intend to order one today to
to see if I can use it in making up a power cord.

I have consulted the Triton IV instruction book and they give no
information beyond saying it is a six pin plug. I have not consulted
Ten Tec about this. They may be able to give more definitiive
information or may even sell them.

Please let me know if you find out any more information, and I will do
the same for you.
