Mozilla is excellent and much safer than IE but a bit piggy.

Jim, of course you are correct, but then again, it wouldn't be coming up

To the discussion:
I installed a hardware firewall and completely got rid of pop-ups.
I think it boils down to one main subject matter: do you need 100%
Microsoft for some reason (for instance, that's what you use in the
company you work for and you don't want to toggle your mind back and
forth between two environments).
Obviously if the answer to the above is no, then Mozilla is a viable
alternative. I think there will be several alternatives emerging, but
for most of us who do indeed need Microsoft at work and therefore want
it at home, the best thing to do is to check for updates daily and
deploy them! If you can't use a hardware firewall then use a software
firewall.
Someone said earlier they felt that running older Microsoft (e.g.,
WIN98) was safer. That's only true if you don't keep newer stuff up to
date. With WinXP SR2, you are safer than with WIN98.
