The 546 series B has 30 meter receive.  There was an add kit that added 12
meter transceive and 30 meter transmit.  The 546 series C came along and
added 18 mhz (although the transmit signal was not clean) and XIT to go
along with RIT.  The Series C also had independent control of the audio
filters and IF filters.  The series B audio filter switch was ganged with
the IF filter switch.  The series C had separate switches for these.  I know
this first hand because I had a series B and modified it completely to all
the series C options including 18 mhz.
