The Orion xmit audio is fine with the Heil HC5. The Orion is really quite easy
to setup for ssb xmit and the monitor does quite a good job so you can just
make adjustments while transmitting into a dummy load and judge for yourself.
For non-hifi applications, you can use a xmit bandwith around 2400hz, a low
frequency rolloff of 200 or 300hz, and play with the TX EQ till you like the
sound (typical values -8 to -15dB). Adjust mic gain so the LED blinks on voice
peaks, like other Ten-Tec rigs. If you want to use compression, try values of
3 to 5.
