SDR stands for Software Defined Radio.

A radio with conventional hardware parts inside with a software above
everything to control nearly each and every aspect of the radio. Hardware
under software control, as in a PC.

That's my definition of an SDR, but you have to talk to the specialists here
for their own definition, that must be a good thread to wait until xmas !
:-)

Objet : [TenTec] Orion / Jupiter SDR Radios ?

I'm not an Orion or Jupiter owner and am using older eqipment but I
see mention in the threads of the Orion of Jupiter being "SDR" radios
and am curious as to what that terminology means. It's a new term to
me.

Thanks in advance.
