 >Does anyone know if the Receive antenna input on the Orion is disconnected
from the receiver during transmit? If so,
does it reconnect when the receiver is turned on when the transmitter is in
QSK mode? If not, is the receiver protected from a strong signal input on
the receive antenna while the transmitter is operating?

Merle, I believe this was previously an issue
which has been addressed in a firmware update over a
year ago. However I don't see any record of it so
you might call Paul Clinton to confirm.

I can state that I have used Beverages into
RX ANT for the 1.5 years I've had an Orion with no
problems. I've never had any problems with the
TS-930S or FT-1000MP I used previously either, but
that is not to say you might not have problems.

This is definitely a case where you should
contact Ten-Tec just to be safe.

                                 73, Bill W4ZV
