Well I sent the radio back to Tentec, because they said they
had a fix for this type of problem. They applied 4 mods, two
of which seemed relevant to the problem, and the problem went away.

Go figure. But thanks for thinking I don't know what I'm doing.

To the group, I have been using a Heil Pro Set with the Heil mike adaptor(I
can't remember the part number)as my only mike since purchasing the Orion.I
have never experienced this problem in over 2000 QSO's with the radio.I am
no expert,but that leads me to believe the problem does not lie with the
mike,or wiring.
