For those new Ten-Tec fans that care to know . . .
To set the Ten-Tec, Inc. Omni D and Omni C models straight read on.
In 1978 originally there was the Omni A (analog), model 545 and Omni D
(digital), model 546.
Later T.T offered a factory upgrade. If the Omni D was upgraded it became an
Omni D Series B.
T.T began building and selling the new Omn D Series B, model 546.
A year or two later T.T came out with the new Omni C. .
On the back panel it's labeled "HF Transceiver, Model 546 Series C.
It also contained redesigned front panel layout and included all 9 HF bands.
It appears they kept the model 546 number but I have always referred to each
xcvr as
Omni A, Omni D and Omni C. Omni C because of their new brochure at the time
was
titled OMNI-C.
The Omni series family - 1978 thru 2001
OMNI A, OMNI A mod. SERIES B, OMNI D, OMNI D SERIES B, OMNI SERIES C,
OMNI V, OMNI VI, OPT 1, 2, and 3 and lastly the OMNI VI PLUS.
Many other named models were manufactured during same time period.
If they are taken care of and operated per instructions these xcvrs will be
around
for 1 or 2 centuries. Reliability and performance 2nd to none. Made in USA.
