Don:
There was a factory mod for the Omni 5 that consisted of installing a 7805
or maybe it was a 7808 or 7812 voltage regulator on one of the boards in the
Omni 5. I had the same problem many years ago. They sent me the parts with
instructions and I installed it myself. It was a very easy install. I can't
remember now which voltage regulator they actually used or where it actually
installed as my mind is foggy about it. I may have it in my Omni 5 service
manual that I keep written notes in if you can't seem to find out anything
more
about it. If you can't I can dig for the info for you. The Omni 5 will drift
about 30-100 Cycles worst case scenario after the mod is done.
