Thank you Mike for sharing that with us!I am sure many users, myself included, did not realize the Astron supplies have "floating" ground. (its probably why the other radio, (Icom 706) kept tripping while tuning using the Astron SS25M) Happy Holidays! Ron wb1hga Mike Hyder -N4NT- wrote: Your semi-annual Astron tip... People come and go from this reflector. This is a reminder that many troubles with Astron power supplies can be cured by grounding the negative post to the cabinet. I did it by removing the insulators from the negative post, scraping some paint from around the hole and putting a lockwasher onthe post when reinstalling. |
