Hi John,

I'm glad that I was able to help. Of course, not everybody likes the
same things. I was surprised at how well the 7506's sounded on the
Orion, because the other professional headphones that I tried didn't
really impress me.

The main reason that I like them can be summed up in one word: clarity.

It was as if the headphones became an "audio magnifying glass" and I was
able to hear things at and below the noise floor with much more clarity
that I could with the others that I tried. But that wasn't all...

Heavy QRM conditions also revealed them to be stellar at separating
sounds and keeping them sorted out.

Finally, the tonal characteristics are very easy to take for the "long
haul" in a contest, as well as just sounding excellent in casual rag chews.

Barry's comment that he liked the sound but found them uncomfortable
makes a good point about the importance of comfort. I have found that
they do not "dig into my ears" as he reported, but once I did flatten
the arc on the headband slightly (with gentle bending) to get the
pressure on my ears into my personal "comfort zone."

Some people simply prefer lighter headphones, and/or headphones that do
not seal around the ear, but I haven't heard any that sounded better (to
me) on the Orion.

I hope you enjoy them!

73,

Mike
