There is a one-transistor Q mult circuit back in the 1958!!!!! ARRL handbook I think. I'm not sure how well it worked, and as I remember it was intended to be a "notch" but wold also make a peak one way or another. A drawing of the ole Heath QF-1 should give a good idea of a tube-type circuit, which could be "transposed" to a FET with ease. If nobody has a a QF-1 book, I have a unit and could perhaps make a sketch of the circuit from it. I agree---the little Rx works dern good.
