It is also my understanding that TT completely bench checks each rig before
it goes back out so if there is a problem, it will be caught.

There does not have to be anything wrong with a rig to have it returned. You
can just not like the way it works or some of the features are not what you
expected. So in all probability there is nothing wrong with your ring.
