Just to add to the static ....
I must be a little or maybe a lot dense. But my NR works, at least in CW.

Orion w/ 2.055 software. Watching the Orion's audio output on my computer.


With no signal, engaging NR shows a slight drop in baseline static. 
(Provided the RF gain is turned down. If RF gain is at 100, there is no 
change, in fact may make the baseline static worse.)


With a signal heard, NR will show a larger drop in baseline static. 
Reducing RF gain and narrowing the BandWidth seem to make the NR more 
effective according to the visual of my audio output on my computer screen.


As I remember the NR in version 1.372 was non existent. This is an 
improvement at my shack. I tend to run my Orion w/ the RF gain 
significantly reduced and NR is not usually necessary, but it does seem 
to work.
