Just got an email from Bob Heil himself, explaining that the input for the
Tentec rigs, has roughly -15db levels than most other rigs. (Something about
Electret mics being so hot). His "Solution" is not so cost prohibitive and I
think it will get the job done. Here's what Bob had to say:

"Use a 50 dollar Behringer UB 802 mixer/preamp/three band EQ in front of your
Heil microphone. Since your transmitter has NO EQ, this will really bring
some higher quality audio to the fore front. "

  Hi Dave,
Heil's are not known for having high output. With my
headphone/mic I had to build a pre-amp to use with the Corsair
II. However it works fine with the Jupiter though I have to run
mike gain about 90% where as with the D104 I normally use it is
run between 40 & 50%. Just a difference in mic output. There is a
course adjustment to set the mic gain in the Jupiter so you could
adjust this to reach a comprise between the two mic's. Say set
the course gain such that with the Heil you would set the gain to
90% and with the T-T gain might be 20%.
