For any rig, be sure to use twisted heavy conductors from a third party supply to the radio. Add a circuit breaker per the Ten Tec supply practice, and you should be fine. Keep power supply leads as short as practical. Don't make them a resonant length, like 8 feet (a quarter wave on 10m). I have run my Ten Tecs on Astron linear supplies for years practicing the above with no problems.
