The rebuild kit with all the parts grease costs about $25 from Tentec.
Its not hard to install, but tedious and its a good idea to work on a
serving tray to capture the three little loose balls. It is necessary to
remove the PTO from the radio, which requires takeing the front panel
off and unsoldering some wires. It may involve some work with the dial
cord if your radio has a dial cord.

The wear is there when turning the knob doesn't change frequency.

I'm sure Tentec can rebuild the PTO, they may not have a new one these
days, and that they can rebuild the PTO alone or work with the whole
radio, but you probably can rebuild the PTO with their kit.

A loose PC board is a possibility if there's not the slippage problem I
had in my worn PTO.
