Hello All,
I wonder if anyone on the list has had a similiar experience. Some years ago
I was playing with a new antenna and a contact on the coil of my 254 burnt up
during transmitting. I sent for the part, rebuilt it and used it happily with
my ONNI V for many years, this time powering the meter light from an
independent power supply as a precaution.
I recently upgraded to an OMNI VI+ and plugged the 254's dial light power
connection into the OMVI VI's aux power and wasted one of the small board's
(either the SWR pickup or
meter driver/adj). Since I never make the same mistake 3 times, I hope, I
believe the culprit
is some sort of ground short thru the dial lamp and/or support bracket
design...is this true or
  a known fault?
Thanks for your help. I really like the 254 when it works.

  Alan
