This progress note is in reference to previous thread: Omni VI Plus  
rig sometimes would put out full power, but at other times, failed to  
put out more than 5 W.

Finally had time to debug; many thanks for all suggestions

Here's what has resolved the problem

Fellows, we disassembled the power amp module and found that a clipped  
bias pot lead stuck in skotch tape (used to hold insulation on circuit  
board) was shorting out drive RF.  Since reassembly, the power amp  
works fine.  Appears not to have been a problem with Mic/Power pot on  
front panel after all.
