Hi
Zero beating a signal with any rig having a sidetone (they alldo these days)
is quite easy. Adjust the pitch of the received signal until it matches the
sidetone. Voila! zero beat!

This is why we need to go back to a Novice class. Get the basics with a
basic rig. Then apply it to all the technology that we have today. Remember
zero beating a signal with your old gear. Now that they have VFO's allowed,
a Viking Ranger and an old Hammarlund could teach all this. Was it really
that much simpler 40 years ago?
