Go here and download VirtualPC 2007:
http://www.microsoft.com/virtualpc
It will allow you to create a "virtual" computer in Windows. You can then
install whatever OS you want in the "virtual machine" (VM) session to run your
old apps.
You'll need as much RAM as you want to assign to the VM, but DOS sessions only
require a couple megs and Win9x works well with 64 to 128MB. Best of all, VPC
2007 is *FREE* (just make sure you have an OS license for the VM).
BTW, *everything* is emulated/virtualized in VM sessions (including COM and LPT
ports). If you have keyers or other components that rely on COM/LPT ports,
VM's may not work for you as there is latency. Also, VPC 2007 does not
virtualize USB ports - if you need USB virtualization, a competitor product,
VMWare, will do this. It's about $250, but it's much more powerful and
flexible than Microsoft's VPC 2007. VMWare is at http://www.vmware.com.
