Ralph,

Do you have a linear amplifier between the transceiver and the antenna?
This is the typical problem you get when the T/R relay contacts inside the
amplifier are burnt. You fix it by burnishing the contacts.

Subject: [TenTec] Omni-V TR problem

During this past weekend's fray in the Pennsylvania QSO party with the
Omni in "Ole Rusty", I encountered a problem with failure of the receiver
to recover to full sensitivity after a transmission. Only noted on SSB,
but the problem is so intermittent that I can't say for sure that there
were no failures on CW. Pressing the PTT and releasing seemed to clear
the problem. Strong signals were able to get thru OK, but anybody less
than S6 or S7 got lost. The RX audio didn't sound quite right during
failure either, but I didn't explore that issue carefully.

Has anybody else hit this problem?? Have not called TT service; hopefully
they are busy working on software and I wouldn't want to slow that
down....
