[TenTec] OMNI V Computer Hookup?

I have an OMNI V that I would like to hookup to a computer.
However,I do not know if it is worth the effort.
The manual does not go into any detail as to features available with the  
computer hookup.
The manual just shows cable hookup and refers you to software program for  
features.
Did TT provide a software program with the radio?
What can be done via the computer?
What programs are available as to software?
