That sideband selection when running "AM" really is a selection. You 
only transmit the sideband selected. It is really SSB with a reinserted 
carrier. It does not transmit DSB AM. When receiving in AM mode you can 
listen to both sidebands, or only one depending on the filter you select 
and the PBT setting. Kinda neat I think, though it would be even neater 
if DSB AM transmit were also an option.
