Most likely Ken, it is your climate. The modern stick on feet widely
available probably use a Urethane adhesive. This is well known in the
magnetic tape recording field to result in sticky shed of tapes made
from the 1980's on, when exposed to high humidity like the tropics, or
even mid latitudes and near sea coast. You have all the bad climate for
this in HI. You might find some rubber non adhesive feet, and apply
them with silicone rubber as an adhesive. It likes to have humidity to
cure.
