Mike, It is possible for lightning surge to char some insulator, or degrade lightining arresstor, on the power poles, such that it creates RFI. Going around with a portable, preferably SW Am receiver, should show a peak as you approach the affected hardware/ pole. I always unplug my Ten Tec and other radios from antennas when not in use, in case a surprise thunderstorm comes up while I am away from shack.
