Well, I called Ten Tec this morning.
I told them of this problem I am having with my OMNI V.
Was told that the problem sounded like a synthesizer problem.
I told them that it did not seem to me that this was a PLL problem.
They had no service notes to give out or a service manual.
Was told to send them the radio for a fix.
I do not think I am going to do that.
Cost of shipping, potential damage etc.
I had rig with covers off his morning and I could not cause the problem no
matter how hard I tried.
Checked for pinched wires near the covers and did not find any.
When I put the covers back on within 15 minutes rig started to sputter
signals dropped off and SWR went from flat to over 5 to 1 on transmit.
It's as if someone removed the antenna.
Turned rig off for 10 minutes and turned it back on and all was fine again.
The rig worked FB on transmit and receive for about 10 minutes and problem
came back.
If anyone can help me resolve this let me know.
If you have had this problem let me know.
Dan/N4VET
