The key in socket is an RCA type receptacle and the only place to key the rig on CW.. The transmitter is keyed by supplying a ground to that receptacle. It does not matter whether you use a keyer output or a straight key.

See the OMNI V manual page 3-11 article "3-5.10 KEY".

Hello,

I would like to hook up a straight key to my OMNI V however a friend told me that he thought there was an issue with the 'key' in jack? Can someone shed some light on if this is an issue?

Thanks

73,

Tony
