Gang!

I've begun rebuilding two Century 21 radios.

Both have stuck PTOs

I ordered and received rebuild kits from Ten Tec

Now, this is not my first dance with a PTO rebuild, having done dozens
before, usually the tritons

This time however, I am having one hell of a time getting the PTOs to
work after the rebuild.

All new parts, bearings, races, washers and new grease.

With the two washers under the back bearing cap, there's so much
pressure that the PTO won't turn. The inner shaft does (the one the
knob is on) but the out shaft, (the one the c21 dial attaches to) does
not

I've had this thing apart at least a half dozen times and have yet to
get it to work correctly.

I ended up adding a third washer under the rear bearing cap, and now
the PTO moves, but works better going one direction than the other.
You can easily stop it with a finger.

anyone have any tips??

mike
