One way is to get a contest program, I use TRLOG, and it is a bit archaic to
configure and requires DOS to run. Basically you key the rig by a computer
program that uses the COM1 port or LPT1 port to key the radio. I use a Y
plug at the back of the keyer and key that from the COM1 port and on to the
radio so that way I can switch to paddle when needed. If I remember right
you hit F10 and the keyboard then becomes a keyer in TRLOG ! I am sure other
contest programs do it too. CT does ! I think they are both free now as DOS
is really old stuff.
